Exton Tree of Love and Remembrance
This Christmas we yet again plan set up a Christmas tree in the war memorial space as a Tree of Love and Remembrance. The tree will as usual be lit with white lights and people can make a minimum donation of £3.00 to sponsor a light in memory of a loved one. This could be a family member, friend or even a pet. Any profits raised will go towards village organisations. A Book of Remembrance will be available for donors to record a message of remembrance for their loved one. It is hoped this book will be available for anyone to inspect in the Parish Church for the remainder of the year.
Exton villagers welcome all to the Exton and Greetham School Children's Carol Service on 4th December at 6.00 pm on the Green at Exton. The lights will be switched on at this time.
Anyone interested in making a donation and record a message please contact Jo Downton 01572 811576 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Forms will also be available from this newsletter or on the village website www.exton.org.
Welcome to Exton and Horn Parish website
Welcome to the website for Exton village and Exton and Horn Parish Council.
In March 2015 it was agreed that the parishes of Exton and Horn would be merged and served by one parish council. Horn did not have a parish council prior to this as most of the original village has long since disappeared, though the parish contains a few houses mainly around Horn Mill.
Exton is one of the most beautiful villages in Rutland with an ancient village green at its heart. Around it stand the eighteenth century Fox and Hounds pub and a number of lovely old cottages.
On this site you will find information about Exton and Horn Parish Council together with pages on the history of the village, the Parish Church and other useful information about the village and the surrounding area.
If you have an item of news or photos to put on the site please email Paul Taylor
