EXTON PARISH COUNCIL MAY ELECTIONS
Villagers are sought who might like to stand for election on the 7th May for our village parish council. Information is available from the Clerk about duties and responsibilities of those elected. Every candidate must have access to email as much correspondence takes place through this medium. For those who wish to stand for election you may submit a written statement about why you wish to stand and your intended contribution to our community to the Clerk. This must be in the form of an email with an attachment so as this may be posted on the Exton web where it is hoped all potential councillors will place statements for villagers to see.
The next parish council meeting is on the 1st April at 7 pm in the village hall and everyone is welcome to attend. At the end there will be a chance to talk to existing councillors if you wish.
Exton Day is happening again this year on Bank Holiday Monday 25th May. For further details go to the News page.
Welcome to Exton and Horn Parish website
Welcome to the website for Exton village and Exton and Horn Parish Council.
In March 2015 it was agreed that the parishes of Exton and Horn would be merged and served by one parish council. Horn did not have a parish council prior to this as most of the original village has long since disappeared, though the parish contains a few houses mainly around Horn Mill.
Exton is one of the most beautiful villages in Rutland with an ancient village green at its heart. Around it stand the eighteenth century Fox and Hounds pub and a number of lovely old cottages.
On this site you will find information about Exton and Horn Parish Council together with pages on the history of the village, the Parish Church and other useful information about the village and the surrounding area.
If you have an item of news or photos to put on the site please email Paul Taylor
