Overall, this is an increase of 9 recorded crimes over 2010 levels. A large percentage relate directly to the outbreak of ASB and milk thefts that occurred during the summer of 2011.

This outbreak was dealt with by the village working in partnership with the Police, Rutland County Council and Spire Homes. In November 2011 Exton Neighbourhood Watch was presented with the Chief Constables award for outstanding service towards supporting both Neighbourhood Policing and the local community

Rutland is covered by the Rutland Local Police Unit of Leicestershire Constabulary,

based at Oakham Police Station. Exton is in the Rutland North Beat area.

If you have anything suspicious to report, no matter how minor it may seem, do report it to our Beat Team, it may be the last piece of the jigsaw they need.

How to contact your neighbourhood policing team and who they are

Sgt Lee Morris (624) "I am Sgt Lee Morris and I have been with Leicestershire Constabulary since 1998. In this time I have worked in Leicester city centre, Rutland and Melton Mowbray local policing units.

"I have been a Sergeant at Melton Mowbray since 2004, working for the past two years as a Citizen Focus Sergeant. This involved working with many other partner agencies and the local authority to reduce crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour. I look forward to bringing the wealth of experience I have gained into my new role in Rutland.

"I have now taken on the responsibility of Neighbourhood Management Sergeant for Rutland. This is a new role for Rutland and it gives me the opportunity to build on the excellent work already carried out by our neighbourhood teams. I will be responsible for managing your beat officers and Police Community Support Officers to ensure Neighbourhood policing continues to maintain its high standard in Rutland. My aim is to make a difference to those who live and work in Rutland."

PC Chris Millward (2155) "I have been a police officer based at Oakham police station since the beginning of 2008. I recently took over the North Rutland beat and with the team I am looking forward to working with the community towards making a difference to their quality of life.

I intend to work closely with the community, local groups and organisations of the area to identify where we can work together to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.

I want the people of Rutland to have a visible police presence and will work with my colleagues to provide this."

PC Mark White (75) "I have been a Police Officer serving Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland for the last 22 years having joined the organisation in 1988 and have completed a number of roles in that time ranging from Local Police Officer in Beaumont Leys to Detective investigating Serious and Organised Crime at National level. I previously worked at Oakham as an LPO for 14 months from 2001-2002 and have most recently been a Detective based at Blaby BCU in Leicester. I have lived in Oakham since 2003 and have ties to the local community and organisations/clubs."

"I am returning to uniformed policing as a Principle Beat Officer for the N35 Rutland North Beat I see this as a valuable opportunity for me to form associations and links with all of our partner agencies and local groups to work towards a safer and less Anti Social society particularly within the communities in the beat area and for me to further develop my community based policing skills. I am looking forward to being a visible presence in the villages in the North of Rutland and to meeting as many people as possible to discuss and address their concerns and issues. I hope to be seen on a bicycle and on foot, when appropriate and in police vehicles at other times, around the beat in the coming weeks familiarising myself with the area and the folks on it whilst addressing the needs and expectations of the residents and businesses of N35."

PCSO Liam Bourne (6049) "Since joining Leicestershire Constabulary in 2007, I have been working from Uppingham police station covering Uppingham Town.

I moved to the north beat area in March 2009 and I am looking forward to working with the neighborhood team, the local community and building strong relationships with the schools and partner agencies in the area, to enable me to address the issues and concerns of the community I am serving."

CSO Steve Houghton (6127) I joined Leicestershire constabulary in the summer of 2007 after working in the agricultural industry for over 20 years.
I aim to be a highly visible and approachable presence in the villages of north Rutland, working alongside the rest of my neighbourhood beat team to combat and reduce rural crime and to work in partnership with the local community to tackle the issues that matter to them.
I will also be working with the force wildlife liaison team to deal with any wildlife based issues in Rutland.
